I'm going to give them another shot after loving Bosnian Rainbows so much. I've got three MV albums that I never could get into.

They're not a band that I'm in love with forever mind you, but in with the rest of the random Prog rock I like I'd say they're fairly high up in the standings. I think I've only heard their first two. De-Loused is really good though, I'd just start there.

I started De-Loused again this morning and I'm not sure how I ever turned it down. It's excellent stuff. I'm going to give it a couple more listens before moving on to their next album.

Sometimes that happens. Hell, many of my favorite bands I just couldn't get into for ages.

Is it a 'popular music in the 70's and 80's' class? <_< because I had to listen to "Autobahn" by Kraftwerk for tests in that class.

it's a 'Music and Technology' class, so talking about how technology influenced music throughout the decades.

Haha, almost the same thing. Sounds like a cool class.

I thought it would be, but it turned out to be super abstract and boring >_> Although, some of the music we listen to is good.

Oh. Lame. I'd think it'd be 90% listening to music... >_>

Seriously though that 70's & 80's class has to have been the best class I've ever taken. Sure, I'll never use it in my career, but I love music way too much, and that basically expanded what I listen to 100x

And the professor was a washed up hippie type, who had tons of stories and was just fun as hell.

I bought Raine Maida's second solo album, We All Get Lighter, the other day. He's the singer/songwriter for Our Lady Peace.

His solo work is a lot different from his OLP stuff, a lot of almost beat poetry.

Though the sound effect at the end is funny.

Going back to this. At first I wasn't sure what to think of it, but over time and many repeated listenings, it's really grown on me, to the point that I think it's a lot better album overall than The Hunter's Lullaby, though perhaps not as "catchy."

"My Friend Mudkip", by halc. A pretty good remix of my favourite song from R/S/E.

I bought Daft Punk's Random Access Memories album on Google Play last night, so I've been listening to that.

I listened to this today... honestly pretty surprised how much I've heard people talking about it, because it's pretty damned boring. I'd say I'd only rate 4/13 tracks as better than "okayish"...

It's great background music but not something I need to listen to all the time.

Yeah, it's not super fantastic. Background music is a good term, just some white noise really. I was inspired to get the album because "Get Lucky" kept playing on the local "modern" music station. Probably the best song on the album, and even that is kinda meh. Oh well, it was "free" in the sense that I used Google Play credits to buy it, not any actual cash of my own. Same with Raine Maida's We All Get Lighter, actually.

Yeah, I could see it as background music pretty easily, but not much else. Definitely doesn't deserve the hype.
